Soni Nayak - The Principle Lawyer

Soni is the principal lawyer of the SN Law Office and has over 20 years of experience in international corporate law, including mergers and acquisitions, cross-border transactions, and insolvency. Having begun her legal career at an international law firm in India, she has advised companies in diverse industries such as pharmaceuticals and consumer goods in setting up operations within the country. Further, she is also experienced in navigating family law in matters such as custody, child welfare, and divorce, being a LESA-certified mediator of family and divorce conflicts.

Soni is an alumni of the University of Mumbai, where she received her first LLB. She is also a graduate of York University’s Osgoode Hall Law School, and a member of the Law Society of Alberta and (non-practising) Law Society of Ontario..

Project Finance:

We provide advice to both lenders and borrowers in financing transactions. Since our inception, we have advised clients from various industries, including private colleges, real estate, and media, on complex transactions involving private equity, mergers and acquisitions, and contract management. Through our India desk, we have also assisted in the development and implementation of entry strategies for Indian and Canadian firms seeking to set up operations in the alternative market.

Jayakrishnan Mohanan

Legal Assistant

Jayakrishnan Mohanan is an Internationally trained lawyer with an LL.M and L.LB from University of Kerala, India. He obtained a Certificate of Qualification from Federation of Law Societies of Canada in the year 2022. Before starting an articling position(or legal assistant) at SN Law office, he worked as a Legal Assistant for two years with a mid-level Law Firm in Greater Toronto Area, ON that specialized in Real Estate Law and Immigration. He also worked as the Legal Coordinator for a Developer in Toronto where he oversaw, proofread, and drafted Commercial leases for the firm and reported directly to the Executive Vice President and General Counsel and Chief Executive Officer of the firm. He practiced in India for three years as a Lawyer and his area of practice was primarily in Criminal, Family, Constitutional and Administrative Law. His door is always open for his clients and his colleagues. He knows the importance of being a good listener and commits himself to helping his clients.

In his spare time Jayakrishnan Mohanan likes to spend his time with his wife and his ten months old daughter . You can also find Jayakrishnan hiking or canoeing with his friends in his free time. He is not afraid to get his boots or his hands dirty. Jayakrishnan speaks four languages- English, Malayalam, Tamil, and Hindi.

Aditi Modi

Legal Assistant

Aditi Modi is an Internationally Trained Lawyer having 8 years Legal Experience in Civil, Family and Personal Injury Law along with Pro Bono legal work. She completed her B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) from Panjab University, India. Before immigrating to Canada, she worked as a Law Officer with a Government owned Insurance Company. She obtained her Certificate of

Qualification from Federation of Law Societies of Canada in May 2021. As an Articling Student, she is dealing with various law areas gaining incredible experience. She is focused, committed, and works with due-diligence. Protecting client’s interest is the paramount consideration for her and she represents them in the best possible manner. She is proficient in English, Hindi and Punjabi.

She loves to spend weekends with her family and going for long walks. She also loves to travel and explore new places.
